Scarificatore MTD Optima 38 con motore a benzina 208cc, larghezza di lavoro 38 cm

Scarifier MTD Optima 38 with 208cc petrol engine and 38 cm working width is a petrol-powered lawn scarifier and aerator designed for medium-sized lawns. It combines dethatching and aeration functions to cut and remove thatch layers, loosen compacted soil and improve water and nutrient penetration. The machine is intended for seasonal and regular maintenance to support healthier turf, better drainage and stronger root development.

Advantages

The MTD Optima 38 features a robust 208 cc petrol engine that provides consistent power for dethatching and aeration across a 38 cm working width. Its combined scarifying and aerating action removes moss and thatch while creating channels in the soil to promote air and water flow. The machine is designed for straightforward handling, offering manageable transport and operation for typical home and small-property use. Construction and working components are arranged to deliver even treatment across the working width and to reduce the need for multiple passes.

Suitable for

• Medium-sized domestic lawns
• Seasonal lawn maintenance (spring and autumn)
• Removal of moss and thatch from turf
• Lawn aeration to improve drainage and root development

Key specifications

• Engine type: petrol, 208 cc
• Working width: 38 cm
• Functions: scarifying (dethatching) and aerating
• Intended area: medium-sized lawns and regular maintenance

How to use

Before operation, inspect the lawn for stones, branches and other debris and set the scarifier to the appropriate depth according to the amount of thatch and soil compaction. Start the petrol engine following the manufacturer's starting procedure and move the machine at a steady, even pace so the tine or blade unit can cut and remove material uniformly. For heavy thatch or compacted soil, make two passes at different depths or directions. After scarifying and aerating, collect or rake loose material and remove debris to leave the surface clean.

Recommendations

Use the MTD Optima 38 during dry or slightly moist conditions to avoid damaging wet turf. Perform scarifying no more than two times per year on healthy lawns and follow with mowing, overseeding or topdressing as needed to support recovery. Regularly check and maintain engine oil, air filter and tines for optimal performance.
