Scheda interfaccia ASUS ThunderboltEX 5 — PCIe 4.0, Intel JHL9580, Mini DisplayPort, USB 2.0, 120 Gbit/s

ASUS ThunderboltEX 5 is an internal expansion card that brings Thunderbolt 5 connectivity to compatible Windows 11 x64 PCs. The card uses the Intel JHL9580 controller and connects to a PCIe 4.0 host to provide high-bandwidth external interfaces including Mini DisplayPort, PCIe lanes and USB 2.0 support. With an aggregate throughput of up to 120 Gbit/s, this add-on card is intended to expand a desktop system's ability to connect high-speed displays, storage devices and peripherals through Thunderbolt and USB-C compatible devices.

Advantages

The ThunderboltEX 5 card delivers a high-throughput interface that supports simultaneous video and data transmission over the same connection, enabling fast file transfers and external display output. It installs into a PCIe 4.0 slot and integrates with system hardware via an internal connection, preserving external port density while adding modern connectivity. The card’s multi-interface outputs allow flexible connections to Mini DisplayPort devices, PCIe-based peripherals and legacy USB 2.0 endpoints.

Suitable for

• Adding high-speed external connectivity to a desktop PC
• Connecting external displays via Mini DisplayPort and Thunderbolt-compatible adapters
• Attaching external NVMe or PCIe peripherals through Thunderbolt-enabled docks/enclosures
• Integrating legacy USB 2.0 devices alongside high-bandwidth peripherals
