Set pietre per affilatura Work Sharp 1000/6000 con supporto - sistema a doppia grana

The Work Sharp Water Stone 1000/6000 set with base is a two-grit sharpening system designed for restoring and refining cutting edges on knives and edged tools. The set includes a coarse 1000-grit stone for reshaping and repairing dull or damaged edges and a fine 6000-grit stone for honing and polishing to a refined, keen finish. A molded base is supplied to hold the stones securely during use and to provide a consistent working angle on a flat surface.

Advantages

These water stones offer a simple progression from coarse grit conditioning to fine grit polishing in a compact, matched set. The 1000-grit stone removes material efficiently for edge re-profiling, while the 6000-grit stone refines the bevel and creates a smooth, low-friction cutting surface. The included base increases stability and user control, helps maintain a flat working plane, and reduces the risk of uneven wear when sharpening by hand. Stones are intended for use with water as a lubricant and to capture abrasive slurry.

Suitable for

• Kitchen and chef knives requiring edge restoration or regular maintenance
• Outdoor and hunting knives that need re-profiling after heavy use
• Chisels, plane blades and woodworking tools for precise honing
• Home workshops and hobbyists performing manual sharpening

Key specifications

• Two grit values: coarse 1000 and fine 6000 for progressive sharpening and polishing
• Material: bonded abrasive water stones formulated for metal edge work
• Includes a non-slip molded base to hold stones flat during sharpening
• Intended for use with water as lubricant and to form abrasive slurry
• Compatible with manual sharpening techniques and typical edged-steel geometries

How to use

Immerse the stones in water for a few minutes before use until bubbles stop emerging, or soak according to manufacturer guidance, then place the stone in the supplied base on a stable work surface. Start on the coarse 1000-grit stone to re-establish the bevel or remove nicks, using consistent, controlled strokes at the desired sharpening angle. Periodically add water to keep the surface lubricated and to carry away slurry. Once the edge profile is correct, switch to the 6000-grit stone to refine and polish the bevel with lighter strokes until a uniform, sharp edge is achieved. After finishing, rinse and dry stones and wipe the blade clean.

Recommendations

Use consistent pressure and angle while sharpening to avoid creating uneven bevels. Flatten stones periodically if they show cupping or uneven wear. Allow stones to dry thoroughly before storage to prevent degradation, and store the base and stones in a cool, dry place away from direct heat.
