Adattatore per cavo S/CONN 71220-8MS

The ShiverPeaks Cable Gender Changer S/CONN 71220-8MS is a compact metallic adapter that converts one RJ45 plug gender to the opposite, enabling direct connection between two RJ45-terminated cables or devices without rewiring. Constructed with a metal housing and two RJ45 ports, this gender changer provides a straightforward mechanical solution for adapting cable ends while maintaining the original signal path and impedance characteristics.

Advantages

The metal body delivers enhanced mechanical strength and improved shielding against electromagnetic interference compared with plastic adapters. Its two RJ45 connectors are fitted to ensure secure mating with standard Ethernet plugs and to minimize connection loss. The compact form factor makes it easy to position in patch panels, behind equipment, or in confined network racks without adding significant bulk.

Suitable for

• Extending an Ethernet run by joining two RJ45 cables directly
• Converting plug-to-plug configurations when a cable with opposite gender is needed
• Temporary or permanent adaptations in data closets, server rooms, and home networking installations
• Situations where a durable, shielded mechanical connector is preferred

Key specifications

• Connector type: two RJ45 female/male interface as a gender adapter
• Housing material: metallic construction for durability and shielding
• Contact retention: secure mating designed for standard RJ45 plugs
• Form factor: compact inline adapter suitable for confined spaces
• Cable compatibility: standard Ethernet cables with RJ45 terminations

How to use

Align each RJ45 plug with the corresponding connector on the gender changer and insert until the latch engages. Verify a firm mechanical connection on both sides and avoid applying excessive lateral force to prevent wear on contacts. After connecting, test the network link using a cable tester or by verifying link lights on connected devices to confirm signal continuity and correct pair alignment.

Recommendations

Use the adapter in locations that allow occasional inspection and avoid environments with high moisture or corrosive atmospheres. For shielded cable systems, ensure proper grounding of the overall installation to maintain shielding effectiveness. Limit repeated plug/unplug cycles to reduce mechanical wear and periodically check connections for corrosion or looseness in long-term deployments.
