Montatura parallattica Skywatcher EQM-35 PRO con treppiede NEQ5, modello SW-4141

The Skywatcher EQM-35 PRO equatorial mount with NEQ5 tripod (model SW-4141) is a precision mechanical platform designed to support medium-weight telescopes for tracking celestial objects. The mount provides a motor-ready equatorial head with adjustments for polar alignment and guided tracking, combining stable support and the option to add drive systems for right ascension and declination. The integrated NEQ5 tripod enhances stability and height adjustability, creating a setup suitable for both visual observing and basic astrophotography.

Advantages

The EQM-35 PRO offers a rigid, low-backlash worm gear drive interface that improves tracking accuracy once drive motors are installed. The NEQ5 tripod provides sturdy support with adjustable legs and a spreader for improved rigidity. Design features include mount balancing options, slow-motion controls for manual adjustments, and compatibility with standard dovetail plates and counterweights for balanced polar operation.

Suitable for

• Amateur astronomers setting up medium-aperture refractors or reflectors
• Visual observing of planets, lunar features and deep-sky objects
• Entry-level to intermediate astrophotography with guiding and motor drives
• Field sessions where portability and quick setup are required

Key specifications

• Type: German equatorial-style mount with motor-ready worm gear interfaces
• Load capacity: designed for medium-weight optical tubes and accessories
• Polar adjustment: mechanical polar axis alignment with fine adjustment controls
• Mount head features: dovetail saddle for standard telescope mounting and counterweight shaft
• Tripod: NEQ5 class tripod with adjustable aluminum legs and central spreader for stability
• Controls: slow-motion knobs for manual tracking adjustments; provision for adding motor drives and guiding port
• Construction: durable metal components for improved stiffness and reduced flex

How to use

Assemble the NEQ5 tripod on level ground and secure the spreader to stabilize the legs. Attach the EQM-35 PRO mount head to the tripod’s top plate and install the counterweight shaft. Mount the telescope tube using the dovetail saddle and balance the assembly in right ascension and declination by adjusting the position of the counterweights and tube clamps. Perform polar alignment using the mount’s polar axis adjustments and a polar scope or alternative alignment method. If needed, install drive motors on the worm gear interfaces and connect any guiding hardware before beginning long-exposure imaging or extended visual tracking sessions.

Recommendations

For best tracking results, balance the optical tube precisely in both axes before polar alignment, and ensure tripod placement on firm, level ground. Use slow-motion controls for fine framing during visual observing and add a guided motor drive for astrophotography to correct periodic error. Regularly check and tighten dovetail and clamping screws, and transport the mount with counterweights removed to reduce strain on the worm gears.
