SSD Samsung 1 TB M.2 PCI Express 4.0 NVMe PM9B1

The Samsung PM9B1 SSD disk provides 1 TB of solid-state storage in an M.2 form factor with a PCI Express 4.0 NVMe interface. Designed for use in modern PCs and laptops, this drive delivers sustained high transfer rates with up to 3600 MB/s sequential read and up to 3000 MB/s sequential write performance. V‑NAND flash technology and an NVMe controller combine to offer responsive system boot, fast application loading and effective handling of demanding workloads and multitasking.

Advantages

The M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe connection enables significantly higher throughput compared with previous-generation SATA drives, reducing load times for large files and speeding up data transfers. The 1 TB capacity balances space for operating systems, applications and user data while keeping a compact M.2 footprint that fits most modern motherboards and laptops. High sequential read and write speeds support heavy file operations, and V‑NAND architecture contributes to durability and consistent performance under continuous load.

Suitable for

• Primary system drive for desktop PCs and laptops
• Fast storage for gaming and game library installation
• Content creation workflows (video editing, photo editing, 3D assets)
• Data-intensive applications and multitasking environments

Key specifications

• Storage capacity: 1000 GB
• Form factor: M.2
• Interface: PCI Express 4.0, NVMe
• Sequential read speed: up to 3600 MB/s
• Sequential write speed: up to 3000 MB/s

How to use

Install the M.2 SSD into an available M.2 slot on a compatible motherboard or laptop following the manufacturer’s hardware instructions. Ensure the system supports PCIe 4.0 to obtain maximum performance; the drive remains compatible with PCIe 3.0 slots but with reduced throughput. After physical installation, initialize, partition and format the drive in the operating system, then migrate the OS or install new applications as required. Maintain proper thermal conditions by using motherboard heatsinks or thermal pads if available for sustained heavy workloads.

Recommendations

For best long-term performance, enable the platform’s native NVMe drivers, update system firmware and OS drivers, and avoid filling the drive to full capacity—leave a portion of free space for optimal wear leveling and sustained write performance.
