Switch Ethernet unmanaged Televes SWUM-1000-8 8x 10/100/1000 Mbps

Televes SWUM-1000-8 is an unmanaged L2 Ethernet switch that provides eight RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation for 10/100/1000 Mbps connections. Designed for straightforward network expansion, the switch offers plug-and-play operation and stable wired Gigabit links for small offices, homes and compact installations. The fanless metal housing ensures silent operation while basic switching functions operate without user configuration.

Advantages

The switch delivers full-duplex Gigabit speeds on all ports and supports automatic MDI/MDIX crossover detection, reducing the need for special cables. Built with straightforward unmanaged behavior, it minimizes setup time and maintenance. Its compact, robust enclosure allows for flexible placement on a desktop or within a small equipment rack. Energy-efficient operation and low heat output make it suitable for continuous 24/7 use in constrained spaces.

Suitable for

• Expanding a wired network in small offices or home environments
• Connecting IP cameras for surveillance systems
• Providing connectivity for VoIP phones and desktop PCs
• Linking NAS devices and media servers for local data transfer

Key specifications

• Number of ports: 8 RJ45 ports
• Data rates: 10/100/1000 Mbps per port (auto-negotiation)
• Switch type: Unmanaged L2 switching
• Duplex: Half and full-duplex support with flow control
• Auto MDI/MDIX: Supported on all ports
• Housing: Compact metal enclosure, fanless design
• Power: External power adapter (DC) for simple deployment
• Operating environment: Typical indoor installation for offices and homes

How to use

Place the Televes SWUM-1000-8 on a stable surface or mount it in a small rack if space allows. Connect the external power adapter to the switch and plug it into a power outlet. Use standard Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cables to connect network devices to any of the eight RJ45 ports; the switch will automatically negotiate the proper speed and duplex settings. For network uplinks, connect one port to your router or gateway. No configuration is required—once connected and powered, devices will begin communicating over the wired network.

Recommendations

For consistent Gigabit performance, use Cat5e or Cat6 cables and place the switch in a ventilated, dust-free location away from direct heat sources. For surveillance or NAS applications, ensure the switch is connected to a reliable power source and use proper cable management to reduce electromagnetic interference. Because the device is unmanaged, use it in networks where advanced features like VLANs, QoS configuration or SNMP monitoring are not required.
