Switch KVM DIGITUS DS-12856 USB-C/USB-A 2 porte doppio HDMI 4K60Hz (USB 3.2 Gen 1)

The DIGITUS KVM Switch DS-12856 lets you control two computers with a single keyboard and mouse while driving dual HDMI monitors at up to 4K@60Hz. The compact aluminium housing contains dual HDMI inputs and outputs for two displays per system, a USB 3.0 hub with three USB‑A ports and one USB‑C port for peripheral sharing, and a 3.5 mm audio output. Switching is done via the device button or the supplied wired magnetic remote control. Power is provided via USB-C; an optional 5V/2A adapter can be used for power-hungry USB devices.

Advantages

The unit supports high-resolution video (4K@60Hz YUV 4:4:4), HDR and HDCP 1.4/2.2 while offering USB 3.0 data throughput up to 5 Gbit/s per port for fast peripheral sharing. Its aluminium housing improves stability and passive cooling, and the wired magnetic remote enables easy switching without rearranging cables. Plug & Play operation requires no additional software, simplifying setup.

Suitable for

• Dual-monitor workstations where two computers need to share one keyboard and mouse
• Home offices and small offices requiring 4K video switching between systems
• Setups that share external drives, printers or USB peripherals across two PCs

When it may not be suitable

This KVM is not designed for more than two computers or for systems requiring more than two displays per computer. External storage devices or SSDs with high power draw may need an additional 5V/2A power adapter for reliable operation.

Attach keyboard and mouse to the USB ports on the KVM and optionally connect USB peripherals or external storage to the USB‑A or USB‑C ports. Plug the unit into a USB power source (or use the optional 5V/2A adapter if needed). Use the front-panel button or the supplied wired remote to switch control between the two computers. No driver installation is required for basic keyboard, mouse and display switching.

What to consider before purchase

• Ensure your computers support HDMI dual-output configurations required by this KVM
• Check if external USB drives require additional power; use a 5V/2A adapter if necessary
• Verify your monitors support 4K@60Hz and HDR if you intend to use those features

Recommendations

For reliable high-speed data transfers and to support power-hungry USB devices, use the optional 5V/2A power adapter and high-quality HDMI 2.0 or better cables. Place the magnetic remote on a metal surface near your workspace for convenient switching.
