The PLANET IGS-4215-8T2S is an industrial-grade, DIN-rail managed Gigabit switch designed for critical business and industrial networks. It provides 8 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and 2 100/1000BASE-X SFP slots, dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 management, and an L2/L4 switching engine in an IP30 metal housing rated to operate from -40 to 75 °C. With a compact rugged design and 9–48 V DC power input, the switch is intended for demanding environments such as factory floors, traffic cabinets, and other hardened deployments.

How to use

Mount the IGS-4215-8T2S on a DIN-rail or wall using the provided brackets and connect a compatible 9–48 V DC power source. Connect Ethernet devices to the 8 Gigabit RJ45 ports and insert SFP transceivers into the SFP slots for fiber uplinks as required. Access the device for initial configuration through the built-in Web GUI, or use SSH/Telnet for CLI access. For remote monitoring and centralized management, configure SNMPv3. Configure VLANs, link aggregation, QoS, and security policies (ACL, 802.1X, DHCP Snooping) according to network design and operational requirements.

Recommendations

Install the switch in a ventilated, dust-minimized enclosure when possible; use surge-protected power inputs and enable SNMPv3 and SSHv2 for secure remote management.
