Synology kit guide RKS-04 guide rack estraibili per RackStation RS1626xs+

The Synology RKS-04 is a sliding rack-rail kit that mounts a compatible Synology rackmount server into a standard four-post 19-inch rack while still letting the unit slide out for service. The telescopic rails adjust to a rack mounting depth of 553 mm to 834 mm, so the chassis can be pulled clear of the cabinet for drive, fan and cabling access without unbolting it. RKS-04 ships in silver and is backed by Synology's 1-year limited warranty.

Advantages

Sliding rails replace fixed brackets, so a rackmounted NAS no longer has to be lifted out for routine maintenance, reducing handling risk on a populated unit. The wide depth range fits most server cabinets, and support for both square and round mounting holes covers common rack post styles. As a genuine Synology accessory it is matched to the supported chassis for a secure, properly aligned fit.

How to use

Confirm the cabinet meets the kit's requirements: mount post width at least 450 mm, panel width at least 480 mm, post-to-post depth between 553 mm and 834 mm, and square (9.5 x 9.5 mm) or round (7.1 mm) holes. Set each rail to the cabinet depth, fix the outer members to the front and rear posts, attach the chassis to the inner rails and slide it in until it locks. Check that it slides smoothly and latches before loading drives.

Recommendations

Check the chassis against Synology's compatibility list before purchase: RKS-04 is specified for the RS1626xs+, while other rackmount models use different kits such as RKS-01 or RKS-02. Install the rails as a pair at a level height on both sides, leave enough cable slack for the full slide travel, and avoid extending more than one heavy unit from the same cabinet at once to keep the rack stable.
