The Gigaset DESK 400 is an analog corded telephone with a wired handset and a compact white design suitable for home or office use. It offers four direct dial keys, ten speed-dial entries and adjustable ringing and handset volume, and can be mounted on a desk or on a wall using two screws.

Advantages

The phone is simple to install and operate, supports both pulse and tone dialing and provides a mute function for privacy. Direct dial and speed-dial keys allow fast connection to frequently called contacts, and redial returns the last dialled number. The device is hearing-aid compatible according to ITU-T P.370, reducing interfering noise for users of inductive hearing aids.

How to use

Store frequently used numbers in the ten speed-dial slots and assign important contacts to the four direct dial keys for one-touch calling. Select the preferred dialling method (tone or pulse) and set the flash time with the slide switch if required. Use the mute button during a call to prevent the other party from hearing your side of the conversation. Use redial to call back the last dialled number.

Recommendations

The device is intended for analogue PSTN lines. For clearer sound when using a hearing aid, place the handset directly at the ear and ensure the hearing aid is set to inductive coupling mode. If the phone is mounted on a wall, secure it with two appropriate screws and ensure the line connector is accessible.
