Tubo ottico Sky-Watcher BKP 150/750 OTAW

Getting sharp, high-contrast views of deep-sky objects and planets requires an optical tube that balances aperture, speed, and portability. The Sky-Watcher BKP 150/750 OTAW delivers exactly that: a 150 mm parabolic Newtonian reflector with a fast f/5 focal ratio, ideal for astrophotography and visual observation. Its rolled steel tube and precision Crayford focuser ensure stable, repeatable performance night after night.

Who is it for

This optical tube assembly is perfect for amateur astronomers who already own a mount with a Vixen-style dovetail saddle and want to upgrade to a larger aperture without buying a complete telescope. It suits both visual observers seeking bright, detailed views and astrophotographers looking for a fast, wide-field instrument for capturing nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters.

Main features

• 150 mm parabolic primary mirror with high-reflectivity SiO2-protected aluminum coatings for maximum light throughput.
• Fast f/5 focal ratio (750 mm focal length) provides a wide field of view and short exposure times for imaging.
• 2-inch Crayford focuser with 1.25-inch adapter accepts both eyepiece sizes and offers smooth, precise focusing.
• Includes 6x30 achromatic finderscope for easy object location.
• Sturdy rolled steel tube with tube rings and Vixen-style dovetail bar for secure mounting.
• Secondary mirror obstruction of only 52 mm (11.9% by area) preserves contrast for planetary detail.

Tips

To get the most out of this optical tube, pair it with a sturdy equatorial mount and a coma corrector for wide-field astrophotography. Allow the telescope to reach thermal equilibrium with the outdoor temperature for at least 30 minutes before observing to ensure the sharpest images.
