Workstation Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Ultra SFF Intel® Core™ i7 i7-13700K 32 GB DDR5-SDRAM 512 GB SSD Ubuntu Linux

Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Ultra SFF is a compact workstation designed for professional workloads. It is powered by an Intel® Core™ i7-13700K processor with hybrid 16-core (8 Performance + 8 Efficient) architecture and up to 5.4 GHz turbo, paired with 32 GB of DDR5-4800 memory and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. The system uses integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770 and ships with Ubuntu Linux LTS. With a 300 W power supply and a small form factor chassis, it aims to deliver desktop-class performance in a space-efficient design.

Advantages

The workstation provides high single-thread and multi-thread performance thanks to the i7-13700K processor and fast DDR5 memory, while the PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD ensures quick system boot and application load times. Its compact SFF chassis and moderate weight make it suitable for constrained office environments. Ubuntu Linux LTS is preinstalled for users who require a stable Linux environment out of the box.

Suitable for

• Software development and compilation tasks
• Data analysis and light to moderate scientific computing
• Office productivity and multitasking with many applications
• Digital content creation workflows that rely on CPU and fast storage

When it may not be suitable

This configuration lacks a discrete GPU, so it may not be suitable for heavy 3D rendering, GPU-accelerated machine learning training, or demanding CAD workflows that require a dedicated graphics card. Users needing large local storage pools or multiple high-performance drives may find the single 512 GB SSD limiting without additional storage expansion.

Key specifications

• Processor: Intel Core i7-13700K, 16 cores (8 P + 8 E), up to 5.4 GHz turbo, base P-core 3.4 GHz
• Memory: 32 GB DDR5-4800 (1 x 32 GB SODIMM)
• Storage: 512 GB M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0x4 NVMe SSD
• Graphics: Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770
• Operating system: Ubuntu Linux LTS
• Power supply: 300 W
• Networking: Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps)
• Weight: approximately 3.6 kg

How to use

Set the workstation on a stable surface with adequate ventilation. Connect display, keyboard, mouse and network, then power on and follow the Ubuntu initial setup. Use the preinstalled operating system to install development tools, libraries or applications required for your workflows. For storage expansion or additional peripherals, consult the chassis documentation for available internal slots and external ports before opening the unit.

What to consider before purchase

• No discrete graphics card included — consider a model with a dedicated GPU if your workload requires it
• 512 GB SSD may be small for large project files — plan for external or internal additional storage if needed
• Compact SFF chassis limits internal expansion compared with full-size towers

Recommendations

For general professional tasks and software development on Ubuntu, keep the system updated with the latest OS patches and firmware. If you plan GPU-heavy work later, verify compatible low-profile or external GPU options that fit the SFF chassis and power budget.
