The InLine Keyboard Adapter 5 Pin DIN male to PS/2 female 33949 allows connection of legacy keyboards with a 5‑pin DIN plug to systems that accept PS/2 keyboard connectors. The adapter is white and designed to provide a simple interface between older keyboard hardware and PCs with PS/2 keyboard ports.

Advantages

The adapter provides a compact, passive solution for connecting 5‑pin DIN keyboards to PS/2 ports without requiring additional drivers or power. Its standardized connectors offer straightforward compatibility with devices that follow the DIN and PS/2 connector specifications. The white housing helps it integrate visually with common PC peripherals and desks.

Suitable for

• Connecting vintage or legacy 5‑pin DIN keyboards to PS/2 keyboard ports
• Maintaining compatibility when replacing or upgrading PCs while keeping an existing keyboard
• Use in workstations, industrial systems, or point‑of‑sale terminals that require legacy keyboard support

How to use

Insert the 5‑pin DIN male connector into the keyboard’s DIN socket and plug the PS/2 female end into the computer’s PS/2 keyboard port. Ensure both connections are seated firmly. No drivers are required for the passive adapter; the keyboard should be recognized by systems that support PS/2 keyboards. If the keyboard is not detected, power down the computer, reconnect the adapter, and then restart the system.

Recommendations

Use the adapter in environments where mechanical stress is minimal; avoid placing strain on the connectors or twisting the cable connection. Check that the connected keyboard adheres to standard DIN pinouts—non‑standard or proprietary keyboards may not function through a passive adapter.
