Cavo AOC SFP+ CBO SFP-AOC-10G-10M-HU-BO 10 m cavo ottico attivo per 10 Gbps

Active optical cable CBO SFP-AOC-10G-10M-HU-BO is a 10 m SFP+ direct-attach solution designed for 10 Gbps links. It provides a compact, low-power connection between SFP+ ports on switches, servers and storage systems without the need for separate transceivers and fiber patch cords. The cable is intended for short-reach, high-speed interconnects in data centre environments where reliable 10 Gbps performance is required.

Advantages

The active optical construction reduces electrical interference and lowers power consumption compared with copper DACs over similar distances. Its integrated SFP+ connectors simplify installation by plugging directly into standard SFP+ ports, eliminating separate module and patch-cord assembly. The 10 m length supports flexible rack-to-rack and shelf-to-shelf connections while maintaining consistent signal integrity and thermal characteristics suitable for dense equipment racks.

Suitable for

• Data centre uplinks between switches and core aggregation
• Server-to-switch connections in high-performance computing and virtualization environments
• Storage area network interconnects and backup appliance links
• Switch stacking and short-distance spine-leaf links

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP+ plug-to-plug active optical cable
• Maximum data rate: 10 Gbps per link
• Cable length: 10 metres
• Transmission medium: optical fibre with active transceivers integrated in the cable ends
• Power consumption: low-power active modules (typical for AOC solutions)
• Compatibility: designed for standard SFP+ ports supporting 10 Gbit/s
• Operating environment: suited for short-reach indoor rack and cabinet installations

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on network equipment until the latch engages. Ensure devices are powered off or interfaces are administratively down if recommended by the equipment vendor before hot-plugging. After insertion, verify link status and negotiate 10 Gbps operation via device interface indicators or management software. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and secure it to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, maintain minimum bend radius and avoid compressive forces on the cable assembly. Use this 10 m AOC for short-reach indoor interconnects; it is not intended for outdoor use. Check device compatibility and firmware requirements for SFP+ modules when connecting across mixed-vendor equipment.
