Cavo Direct-Attach AOC SFP28 CBO AOC-SFP28-CABLE-3M-BO — 3 m, SFP28 maschio, 25 Gbit/s

The AOC SFP28 Direct Attach Cable CBO AOC-SFP28-CABLE-3M-BO is a 3 metre copper active optical cable with SFP28 male connectors that supports 25 Gbit/s data rates. It is designed for short-reach, high-speed connections in data centres and enterprise networks, enabling direct links between switches, servers and network interface cards with SFP28 ports. The cable provides low latency and a simple plug-and-play solution for rack-to-rack and intra-rack connectivity where a compact, reliable 25 Gbit/s link is required.

Advantages

This cable delivers 25 Gbit/s throughput over a 3 m length while maintaining low power consumption and minimal signal latency. The SFP28 form-factor connectors allow direct compatibility with SFP28 ports without additional transceivers, reducing cost and physical complexity. The construction ensures consistent electrical performance for high-density deployments and supports hot-pluggable installation for maintenance flexibility.

Suitable for

• Short‑reach connections between top-of-rack switches and servers
• Direct links between network interface cards (NICs) and switches
• High-density 25 Gbit/s switch interconnects in data centres
• Intra-rack and adjacent-rack cabling where low latency is required

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 male to SFP28 male
• Cable length: 3 metres
• Supported data rate: 25 Gbit/s
• Cable medium: copper with active electrical/optical conditioning (AOC design)
• Form factor: SFP28 compatible
• Typical applications: short‑reach server-to-switch and switch-to-switch links

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into compatible SFP28 ports on the devices to be linked, ensuring the connectors are oriented correctly and fully seated. Use with powered devices that support 25 Gbit/s SFP28 modules; the cable is hot-pluggable so installation or removal can be performed while equipment is running, following standard electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions. After connection, verify link status via device LEDs or management interfaces and confirm network settings for 25 Gbit/s operation.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, limit this cable to short-reach scenarios up to the specified 3 m length and avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling force. Ensure both endpoints support SFP28 operation at 25 Gbit/s and keep firmware and drivers up to date on connected devices. Store and route the cable in rack layouts that prevent electromagnetic interference from power cables.
