Cavo ottico attivo AOC CBO AOC-SFP-25G-10M-BO 10 m SFP28 25 Gbit/s

Active optical cable AOC CBO AOC-SFP-25G-10M-BO is a pre-terminated 10 m SFP28 cable engineered for 25 Gbit/s links. It is intended for short to medium reach connections between servers, switches and storage systems in data centers and telecom racks. The integrated SFP28 interfaces simplify installation by providing a compact, single-piece optical connection that eliminates separate transceivers and fiber patch cords while delivering low latency and reduced power consumption.

Advantages

This AOC delivers full 25 Gbit/s line rate over a 10 m length with the convenience of pre-terminated SFP28 plugs, reducing installation time and the need for on-site fiber termination. By combining connectors and optical fibre in one assembly, it lowers equipment footprint, reduces heat and power draw compared with discrete transceivers plus patch cabling, and improves signal integrity for short to medium distance interconnects. The single-piece design also simplifies cable management in rack environments.

Suitable for

• Server-to-switch connections in data centres
• Switch-to-switch uplinks within telecom racks
• Storage array interconnects requiring 25 Gbit/s
• High-density rack environments where compact cabling is needed

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 to SFP28 (active optical cable)
• Nominal length: 10 metres
• Data rate: 25 Gbit/s line rate
• Cable type: pre-terminated active optical assembly
• Latency: optimized for low-latency short- to medium-range links
• Form factor: compact, single-piece cable with integrated transceiver ends

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP28 plug into the corresponding SFP28 port on devices such as servers, switches or storage systems. Ensure that both ports support SFP28 and 25 Gbit/s operation and that device firmware or drivers are up to date if vendor compatibility features are required. No additional fibre termination or separate transceivers are necessary; simply seat both ends and verify link status through the host devices' interface LEDs or management software.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and keep bend radius within manufacturer specifications. Use proper strain relief at rack entry points and avoid tight bundling with power cables to reduce electromagnetic and mechanical stress. Check compatibility with the equipment vendor if strict interoperability policies are in place, and use this 10 m AOC for short- to medium-reach, high-density interconnects where reduced power and simplified cabling are priorities.
