Cavo ottico attivo (AOC) CBO SFP28-AOC-5M — cavo SFP28 AOC da 5 m

CBO SFP28-AOC-5M is a 5-meter active optical cable with SFP28 connectors engineered for 25 Gbps short-reach links. It delivers a direct fiber connection between compatible SFP28 ports in servers, switches and storage systems, reducing signal loss and electromagnetic interference while simplifying cable management. The plug-and-play design supports hot-plug installation and is suitable for high-density rack environments where consistent 25 Gigabit performance is required.

Advantages

The active optical design ensures stable 25 Gbps transmission over a 5 m length while minimizing power consumption and heat compared with equivalent copper solutions. Low insertion loss and immunity to electromagnetic interference improve signal integrity in densely cabled racks. The SFP28 form factor maintains compatibility with standard SFP28 ports and enables straightforward hot-swap replacement, simplifying deployment and maintenance in data center and enterprise networks.

Suitable for

• Short-reach high-speed links between servers and top-of-rack switches
• Interconnects in storage arrays and SAN equipment
• High-density data center cabling where EMI immunity is needed
• Environments requiring hot-pluggable 25 Gbps connections

Key specifications

• Data rate: 25 Gbps per link
• Length: 5 meters
• Connector type: SFP28 on both ends
• Transmission medium: active optical fiber
• Typical use: short-reach interconnects within racks and adjacent racks

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on your network devices until the latch engages. Ensure both devices support 25 Gbps SFP28 modules and that ports are powered and configured for the desired link speed. The active optical cable is hot-pluggable; connect or disconnect while devices are running if the equipment supports hot-swap. Verify link status and monitor interface statistics to confirm successful establishment and stability of the 25 Gbps connection.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical stress; respect manufacturer minimum bend radius for optical assemblies. Use the cable for short-reach links within racks or between adjacent racks and avoid extended runs beyond the specified 5 m length. Check device compatibility with SFP28 active optical cables and update firmware or drivers if required to ensure full throughput and proper link negotiation.
