Cavo ottico attivo CBO AOC SFP28 1 m — SFP28-AOC-1M

CBO AOC SFP28 Active Optical Cable 1 m — SFP28-AOC-1M is a 1-metre active optical cable designed for SFP28 ports to deliver 25 Gbps class connectivity between compatible network devices. The cable provides a direct, plug-and-play connection for short-reach interconnects in data centers, top-of-rack switches and server-to-switch links. Built for low latency and lower power consumption than equivalent copper solutions, this AOC supports reliable high-speed links where space, electromagnetic immunity and thermal efficiency matter.

Advantages

The active optical design reduces electromagnetic interference and heat generation while maintaining 25 Gbps data rates across a 1 m link. Its SFP28 form-factor connectors enable straightforward installation without additional configuration, minimizing downtime. Compared with passive copper alternatives, the cable offers lower power draw and better signal integrity at high data rates, making it suitable for dense rack environments and short-reach high-performance interconnects.

Suitable for

• Short-reach connections between switches and servers in data centers
• Top-of-rack (ToR) switch uplinks and leaf-spine architectures
• High-density network racks requiring low-EMI cabling
• Server interconnects where low latency and power efficiency are important

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP28 plug-and-play connectors
• Data rate: 25 Gbps class per end
• Length: 1 metre
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Typical applications: short-reach data center interconnects, server/switch links
• Advantages over copper: reduced electromagnetic interference and lower power consumption

How to use

Install the cable by inserting the SFP28 connector ends into compatible SFP28 ports on the two network devices. The AOC is plug-and-play and typically requires no additional configuration; devices should recognise the link automatically and negotiate the appropriate 25 Gbps class connection. Ensure that connectors are inserted fully and that ports on both devices are powered and configured to accept SFP28 links. For best results, avoid bending the cable sharply and maintain a clean connection environment to prevent contamination on connector interfaces.

Recommendations

Use this 1 m AOC for short, high-speed links within racks or between adjacent racks. Check device compatibility lists for SFP28 support and confirm that firmware or port settings permit 25 Gbps operation. Store and handle the cable to avoid physical strain on connectors and observe standard ESD precautions when connecting to sensitive network equipment.
