Cavo ottico attivo CBO SFP28-AOC-5M LinkSys 5 m SFP28 Direct-Attach AOC

BlueOptics Active Optical Cable CBO SFP28-AOC-5M LinkSys is a 5 meter SFP28 direct-attach AOC engineered for 25Gbps links between servers, switches and storage devices. This single-cable solution uses integrated SFP28 transceivers and a multimode optical assembly to deliver low-latency, EMI-immune connectivity across short to mid-range distances in data centers and rack environments. The cable simplifies deployment by eliminating separate transceivers and fiber patch cords while maintaining signal integrity for high-speed Ethernet and InfiniBand applications.

Advantages

The Active Optical Cable offers a compact, single-piece connection that reduces rack clutter and simplifies cable management without sacrificing performance. Optical transmission provides immunity to electromagnetic interference and removes the need for electrical retimers over the specified distance, yielding stable 25Gbps throughput and low link latency. The pre-terminated SFP28 ends ensure plug-and-play compatibility with SFP28 ports designed for direct-attach AOCs and support consistent signal quality across homogeneous short-range links.

Suitable for

• 25Gbps server-to-switch interconnects in data centers
• Top-of-rack and middle-of-row cabling where short optical runs are needed
• Storage area network links between appliances and switches
• High-density rack environments requiring simplified cable management

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 direct-attach optical ends
• Data rate: 25 Gbps per lane
• Length: 5 meters
• Media type: active multimode optical cable
• Latency: low, suitable for low-latency network applications
• Immunity: resistant to electromagnetic interference

How to use

Install by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on network devices until the latch engages. Ensure devices are powered and configured for 25Gbps links and verify link status through device management interfaces. No separate transceivers or fiber patch cables are required; the single assembled cable handles optical transmission and electrical interface within the integrated SFP28 modules.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the minimum bend radius specified by the manufacturer. Use appropriate cable management to prevent strain on the connectors and to preserve airflow in racks. Confirm compatibility with device firmware and port settings when deploying in mixed-vendor environments.
