Cavo ottico attivo InfiniBand CBO QSFP-AOC-30M-QL-BO — 30 m

The CBO InfiniBand Active Optical Cable QSFP-AOC-30M-QL-BO — 30 m is a 30‑meter active optical interconnect designed for InfiniBand environments. This QSFP-form-factor AOC provides a plug-and-play connection between switches, servers and storage, delivering high bandwidth with low latency. The optical medium reduces susceptibility to electromagnetic interference and supports longer reach than comparable copper assemblies, making it suitable for modern data center topologies and high-performance computing clusters.

Advantages

This active optical cable combines the compact QSFP plug design with fiber optics to deliver consistent high-speed links over a 30 m distance. It minimizes signal degradation over longer runs and helps maintain low latency required by InfiniBand fabrics. The plug-and-play nature simplifies deployment without additional transceivers or configuration, and the optical link reduces EMI concerns in dense rack environments.

Suitable for

• Interconnect between InfiniBand switches and top-of-rack servers
• High-performance computing clusters requiring low-latency links
• Server-to-storage connections in data centers
• Environments where electromagnetic interference must be minimized

Key specifications

• Form factor: QSFP (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable)
• Type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Length: 30 meters
• Interface standard: InfiniBand-compatible optical link
• Transmission medium: optical fiber
• Latency: low-latency design suitable for fabric deployments
• Plug-and-play: supports hot-plug operation without external transceivers

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each QSFP connector into the corresponding QSFP port on your switch, server or storage device until it clicks into place. Ensure port compatibility with InfiniBand QSFP interfaces and confirm that connected devices support active optical cable operation. No separate transceivers or fiber patching is required. After insertion the link should be recognized automatically by the host devices; verify link status and speed through management interfaces or on‑device LEDs.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius for optical fiber. Keep the connectors covered when not in use to prevent contamination, and perform visual inspections before installation. Use the 30 m active optical cable where longer copper runs would compromise signal integrity or where EMI reduction and low-latency operation are priorities.
