Cavo ottico attivo InfiniBand CBO QSFP-AOC-5M-MV-BO — QSFP su QSFP, 5 m

CBO QSFP-AOC-5M-MV-BO is a 5‑meter active optical InfiniBand cable with QSFP connectors at both ends. It provides optical transmission for short-reach, high-bandwidth links between switches, servers and storage in data center environments, delivering the distance and electromagnetic immunity advantages of fiber over copper for interconnects up to 5 m.

Advantages

The cable uses active optical technology to enable high-speed data transfer with lower electromagnetic interference compared to copper alternatives. With QSFP-to-QSFP connectivity and a 5 m length, it simplifies rack-to-rack and intra-rack connections while reducing signal loss over the covered distance. Its design supports dense networking environments where compact, low-EMI cabling is required.

Suitable for

• High-bandwidth links between InfiniBand-enabled switches and servers
• Connections between storage nodes and compute clusters in data centers
• Short-reach rack-to-rack and intra-rack interconnects where optical transmission is preferred

Key specifications

• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Connector type: QSFP to QSFP
• Length: 5 meters
• Application: InfiniBand high-speed interconnects
• Transmission medium: Optical fiber (active)

How to use

Ensure both devices have compatible QSFP ports and support active optical QSFP modules for InfiniBand connectivity. With devices powered down or in a safe state for hot-plugging according to vendor guidelines, align the QSFP connector keying and insert the cable end into the QSFP cage until it seats firmly. Repeat for the other end. Verify link status on connected devices and confirm negotiated data rate and link health via system management interfaces.

Recommendations

Handle the cable by the connector housings and avoid excessive bending of the optical cable sheath; maintain the manufacturer minimum bend radius. Keep connector end caps when the cable is not in use to protect optical interfaces from contamination. Follow data center grounding, hot-swap and vendor port handling procedures when installing or removing the cable.
