BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-7M-ZY-BO cavo in fibra ottica InfiniBand 7 m connettore SFP28

The BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-7M-ZY-BO is a 7 m active optical cable (AOC) with SFP28 connectors designed for 25GBASE-SR4 InfiniBand and Ethernet applications. It integrates transmitter and receiver modules on each end and uses multi-mode fiber to deliver bidirectional optical signal transmission up to 25 Gbit/s per lane over the assembled 7 meter link. The cable follows MSA SFP28 AOC mechanical and electrical interfaces to ensure physical interoperability with SFP28 ports on switches, routers and storage systems that support SFP28 AOCs.

Advantages

The BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-7M-ZY-BO provides low-latency, high-throughput connectivity with immunity to electromagnetic interference typical for fiber links. Being a pre-assembled AOC, it eliminates the need for patchcord mating and cleaning, reduces insertion loss compared with field-terminated connections and simplifies installation in dense rack environments. The cable supports digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM/DOM) for real-time information such as supply voltage, laser bias current, transmit power, receive power and temperature, aiding remote maintenance and troubleshooting.

Suitable for

• Interconnects between high-performance switches and routers in data centers
• Direct connections between storage systems and network devices
• Short-reach links in server racks and top-of-rack deployments
• Environments requiring low-latency, high-bandwidth InfiniBand or 25G Ethernet links

Key specifications

• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC) with integrated transceivers
• Connector type: SFP28 to SFP28
• Nominal length: 7 meters
• Supported data rates: up to 25 Gbit/s per lane (25GBASE-SR4 applications)
• Fiber type: multimode fiber within the AOC assembly
• Management: Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM/DOM) compliant with SFF-8472
• Standards: designed to meet SFP28 AOC MSA mechanical and electrical specifications
• Environmental compliance: manufactured to meet common industrial regulations such as CE and RoHS

How to use

Install the BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-7M-ZY-BO by inserting each SFP28 plug into compatible SFP28 ports on your networking or storage equipment until the retention latch engages. Ensure the host devices support SFP28 AOC modules and, if required, enable or verify DOM/DDM monitoring in the host management interface to access diagnostics data. No field termination or patchcords are necessary; route the assembled cable through the rack or conduit to avoid sharp bends and secure it to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

Handle the SFP28 connectors by their housings, avoid exceeding recommended bend radius for the cable, and verify host compatibility before deployment. Use the DDM/DOM readings to monitor link health and plan maintenance; if the host does not expose diagnostics, test the cable in a supported platform prior to production use.
