Case rack per server APC NetShelter SX 12U nero

The APC NetShelter SX 12U freestanding server rack enclosure is designed for low- to medium-density edge computing and compact server deployments. With dimensions of 658H x 600W x 1070D mm, a maximum load capacity of 272 kg and an IP20 rating, this black enclosure provides organized, secure housing for IT equipment in constrained spaces such as under cabinets, under desks or in small branch offices. The unit includes a key lock and its shorter height makes it suitable for discrete placement where a full-height rack is impractical.

Advantages

The enclosure offers quick deployment and simple installation thanks to its industry-standard 12U form factor and compact footprint. Robust construction supports a substantial equipment load while the keyed lock and enclosed design provide basic physical security. IP20 protection ensures defense against solid objects, and the moderate weight (59 kg) balances stability with manageability during installation.

Suitable for

• Edge computing nodes and small server clusters
• Remote or branch office IT equipment
• Deployments under desks or inside cabinets
• Network switches, patch panels and compact UPS units

How to use

Place the rack on a level surface in the chosen location and verify clearance for cable routing and airflow. Install equipment using standard 19-inch rack rails and secure devices with appropriate mounting hardware. Route power and network cabling through available openings, and lock the front door with the supplied key to restrict physical access. Observe the maximum load capacity and distribute weight evenly across the 12U space to maintain stability.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, maintain adequate ventilation and avoid placing the enclosure in areas exposed to humidity or direct water. Reserve space for cable management and allow service clearance at the front and rear. Periodically check the lock and fasteners and ensure installed equipment does not exceed the specified maximum load.
