Case Unitek M.2 2x 20 Gb/s con RAID0/RAID1 e clonazione dei dischi

The Unitek M.2 Enclosure 2x 20 Gb/s with RAID0/RAID1 and Drive Cloning is an external dual-slot M.2 enclosure designed to host two NVMe or SATA M.2 SSDs. It supports per-lane transfer rates up to 20 Gb/s and provides hardware RAID0 for performance aggregation and RAID1 for mirrored redundancy. The enclosure also includes a standalone drive cloning function that duplicates data between installed drives without requiring a connected host computer, offering a portable solution for storage expansion, backups, and disk duplication tasks.

Advantages

This enclosure offers flexible drive compatibility with both NVMe and SATA M.2 form factors and delivers high throughput thanks to 20 Gb/s per lane support. Hardware RAID modes (RAID0 and RAID1) are implemented on the device for performance scaling or data mirroring without relying on host software. The built-in standalone cloning function enables direct disk duplication, simplifying backup and migration workflows. The compact, portable design makes it suitable for technicians and users who need fast external SSD access in the field.

How to use

Install one or two compatible M.2 SSDs into the enclosure following the device's physical installation procedure, then select the required RAID mode using the enclosure's mode switch or interface. When using the enclosure connected to a host system, the drives appear as external storage according to the chosen RAID configuration. For standalone duplication, initiate the drive cloning function on the enclosure to copy data from one installed drive to the other without connecting to a computer. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for mounting, securing drives, and changing RAID modes to avoid data loss.

Recommendations

Use RAID1 when data redundancy and protection against single-drive failure are priorities; use RAID0 only when maximum throughput is required and a secondary backup is available. Before performing cloning or changing RAID modes, back up any important data stored on the drives. Verify drive compatibility (NVMe or SATA M.2) and ensure proper cooling during sustained high-speed transfer operations.
