Cavo AOC CBO Avaya AA1404028-5M — 5 m cavo ottico attivo (compatibile BlueOptics)

CBO AOC Cable Avaya AA1404028-5M — 5 m Active Optical Cable (compatible BlueOptics) is a 5-meter active optical cable designed for short- to medium-reach high-speed interconnects. The cable uses fiber-optic transmission to connect servers, switches and storage devices, providing reduced electromagnetic interference and a lighter, more flexible alternative to copper twinax. It is compatible with Avaya systems and with BlueOptics-compatible SFP+ ports, enabling plug-and-play deployment in data center and enterprise networking environments.

Advantages

The active optical construction offers stable signal integrity over 5 meters while lowering power consumption and heat compared with longer copper runs. The fiber-based link reduces susceptibility to electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, improving reliability in dense rack deployments. Its pre-terminated design simplifies installation and replacement, and the reduced cable bulk improves airflow and rack management in server rooms.

Suitable for

• High-speed connections between servers and top-of-rack or leaf switches
• Interconnects between storage arrays and network switches
• Data center patching where reduced EMI and cable weight are required
• Upgrades from copper twinax to optical links for 10GbE/25GbE-capable equipment with compatible SFP+ ports

Key specifications

• Length: 5 meters
• Type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Connector form factor: compatible with SFP+ ports
• Transmission medium: optical fiber
• Typical application: short- to medium-reach data center interconnects
• Benefits: reduced electromagnetic interference, lower cable weight, improved rack airflow

How to use

Insert each connector into compatible SFP+ ports on the devices to be connected while the equipment is powered according to your hardware vendor guidelines. The cable is pre-terminated and designed for hot-plugging, but follow your network equipment manufacturer recommendations for module handling and ESD precautions. Verify link status through switch or server management interfaces after installation and monitor signal and error statistics to confirm correct operation.

Recommendations

Choose this 5 m active optical cable for short- to medium-length links within racks or between adjacent racks. Maintain bend radius recommendations for fiber cables, avoid sharp kinks, and secure the cable to avoid mechanical strain. Confirm compatibility with the specific SFP+ transceiver policies of your switch or server vendor to ensure interoperability and preserve system warranties.
