Cavo in fibra ottica EFB Elektronik MTPF24MTPFOS2-5-A MTP OS2 5 m giallo

The EFB Elektronik MTPF24MTPFOS2-5-A is a 5 m fibre optic cable with MTP connectors on both ends, designed for high-speed InfiniBand and data centre links. It uses OS2 single-mode fibre with a 9 µm core diameter, intended for long-distance optical transmission. The cable’s yellow jacket improves visibility in dense cabling environments and helps with quick identification during installation and maintenance.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable provides reliable, low-loss connections for long-reach links thanks to its OS2 single-mode construction and 9 µm core. MTP connectors on both ends deliver multi-fiber connectivity in a compact interface, reducing rack space and simplifying cross-connections. The 5 m length offers flexible placement between equipment within racks or across adjacent racks while the yellow outer jacket enhances cable management and identification.

Suitable for

• InfiniBand interconnects in high-performance computing
• Long-distance single-mode links in data centres
• Patch panels and MPO/MTP breakout connections
• Network installations where colour-coded cabling is required

Key specifications

• Cable length: 5 m
• Connector type: MTP to MTP (both ends)
• Fibre type: OS2 single-mode
• Core diameter: 9 µm
• Colour: Yellow

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces for dust or contamination before making connections; clean with appropriate optical cleaning tools if necessary. Route the 5 m cable following standard cable management practices to avoid sharp bends and excessive tensile strain. Insert the MTP connectors into compatible MTP/MPO ports until the connector latch engages, ensuring correct alignment. For disconnection, depress the connector latch and withdraw straight out to avoid damaging the ferrule.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable to prevent tight bends; maintain the minimum bend radius specified by equipment vendors. Use endcap protection when connectors are not in use, and perform regular inspections and cleaning of MTP endfaces to preserve signal quality in high-density InfiniBand and data centre environments.
