Cavo in fibra ottica EFB Elektronik O2561.15 15 m SC giallo

The EFB Elektronik O2561.15 is a 15 m OS2 single-mode fibre optic patch cable with SC connectors on both ends. Designed for full duplex data transmission, this yellow cable has a 9 µm core diameter that supports long-distance, low-loss signal transport. Its construction is suitable for professional networking environments such as data centers, server rooms and InfiniBand installations, providing consistent optical performance for high-speed links.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable provides stable single-mode transmission with low attenuation and predictable insertion loss thanks to its OS2 specification and 9 µm core. The SC connectors ensure a secure push-pull mating mechanism for reliable connections and easy handling. The 15 m length offers flexibility for cable routing within racks and across adjacent equipment areas, while the yellow jacket makes the cable easily identifiable among other network and power cabling.

Suitable for

• Data centre uplinks and inter-rack connections
• InfiniBand and other high-speed networking links
• Server room backbone cabling and equipment interconnects
• Longer runs between networking equipment where single-mode fibre is required

Key specifications

• Fibre type: single-mode (OS2)
• Length: 15 m
• Core diameter: 9 µm
• Connector type: SC to SC (both ends)
• Transmission: full duplex
• Cable colour: yellow

How to use

Verify that the SC connectors are clean and free of dust before insertion, using appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary. Align and insert each SC connector into the corresponding transceiver or patch panel port until it clicks; ensure correct polarity for full duplex operation. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical stress, maintaining the manufacturer's minimum bend radius. Periodically inspect connectors and jacket for damage and replace the cable if any optical performance degradation is observed.

Recommendations

Store the cable coiled without sharp bends and protect connector end faces with dust caps when not in use. Use proper strain relief at rack entry points and avoid running the fibre alongside high-voltage power lines to minimise interference risks. For critical links, perform insertion loss and return loss tests after installation to confirm expected optical performance.
