Cavo in fibra ottica Helos 1 m OM3 SC/SC

The Helos 1m OM3 SC/SC fibre optic cable is a 1 metre duplex multimode patch lead designed for high-speed data transmission in structured cabling environments. Featuring a 50 µm core diameter and SC to SC duplex connectors, it supports OM3 multimode performance for enhanced bandwidth and lower modal dispersion compared with lower graded multimode fibres. The cable’s turquoise jacket provides clear visual identification in racks and cable trays while the compact SC connectors ensure reliable mating in patch panels and network equipment.

Advantages

This OM3 SC/SC fibre offers stable signal integrity for short- and medium-range links, reduced attenuation for more consistent throughput, and duplex operation for simultaneous transmit and receive channels. The robust outer jacket protects the glass fibres from mechanical stress and handling during installation. Its standard 1 metre length simplifies connections between adjacent panels or equipment without excess cabling.

Suitable for

• Patch connections in data center racks and telecom cabinets
• Interconnects between switches, servers and storage arrays
• Short- to medium-reach multimode links using OM3 infrastructure
• Environments requiring clear cable identification and organised cabling

Key specifications

• Fibre type: Multimode OM3
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: SC to SC, duplex
• Length: 1 metre
• Jacket colour: Turquoise
• Mode condition: Multimode, optimized for 850 nm window

How to use

Route the Helos 1m OM3 SC/SC cable between the two SC-compatible ports, ensuring the duplex connectors are correctly aligned for transmit and receive channels. Insert each SC connector until it clicks into the adapter or port. Avoid tight bends — maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to prevent increased attenuation or fibre damage. For best performance, keep connector end faces clean; use a fibre optic cleaning tool or lint-free wipes with approved cleaning solution before mating.

Recommendations

Use this OM3 SC/SC cable for links within racks and between adjacent network devices where a 1 m duplex multimode lead is appropriate. Inspect connectors regularly, manage excess cable to prevent strain, and store spares in protective sleeves to preserve end-face cleanliness and mechanical integrity.
