Cavo in fibra ottica Helos 20 m OM3 SC/SC

The Helos 20m OM3 SC/SC fibre optic cable offers a 50 µm core diameter multimode design optimized for high-speed, short-to-medium range data transmission. With SC connectors on both ends and full duplex capability, the cable is intended for reliable link performance in structured cabling, server rooms and network patching. OM3 multimode characteristics support laser-optimized transmission for applications requiring higher bandwidth and lower modal dispersion compared with standard multimode types.

Advantages

This 20 metre OM3 fibre delivers stable optical performance with reduced attenuation and improved modal bandwidth for Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet distances typical in enterprise and data centre environments. SC/SC connectors provide simple push-pull mating and good mechanical stability in patch panels and chassis. The full duplex configuration enables simultaneous bidirectional data flow over paired fibres, reducing latency in network links.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches, servers and storage arrays in data centres
• Patch panel to panel links within telecommunications racks
• High-speed Ethernet links up to 10 Gbps over OM3-rated distances
• Campus and building backbone horizontal runs where multimode fibre is specified

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM3 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Cable length: 20 m
• Connector type: SC to SC (both ends)
• Transmission mode: Full duplex (paired fibres)
• Typical applications: Ethernet, Fibre Channel, short-range laser-optimized links
• Jacket: (manufacturer standard multimode jacket for indoor use)

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces for dust or damage before installation and clean with appropriate fibre optic cleaning tools if required. Route the cable avoiding sharp bends and maintain the minimum bend radius specified for multimode fibre to prevent performance degradation. Insert SC connectors into matching SC adapters or ports until a positive latch is felt; ensure correct orientation and secure routing within patch panels or cable management trays. For full duplex operation, connect each fibre of the pair to the corresponding transmit and receive ports on network equipment.

Recommendations

Use the cable indoors in controlled environments and avoid exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For installations in plenum spaces, verify that the jacket material meets local building codes. Perform optical loss testing after installation when used in critical links, and keep spare cleaning supplies to maintain connector cleanliness over the lifetime of the installation.
