Cavo in fibra ottica InfiniBand ShiverPeaks 77937/4 2 m

The ShiverPeaks InfiniBand fibre optic cable 77937/4 is a 2 m OM4 multimode link designed for high-throughput, low-latency connections. With a 50 µm core diameter and full-duplex LC-to-SC connector configuration, this cable supports high-speed data transfer between network equipment in data centers, storage arrays, and HPC clusters. The construction balances signal integrity and flexibility for short- to medium-range optical interconnects.

Advantages

The OM4 multimode glass and 50 µm core diameter deliver improved bandwidth and reduced modal dispersion compared with lower-grade multimode fibres. LC and SC connector types provide compatibility with a wide range of transceivers and patch panels, while the full-duplex arrangement enables simultaneous bidirectional communication. The 2 m length is suited for rack-level or cabinet-to-cabinet runs where predictable optical performance is required.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• Data center uplinks and patching between switches and directors
• Interconnects for storage area networks (SAN) and NAS systems
• High-performance computing cluster node connections
• Patch panel-to-transceiver links in rack environments

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 2 m
• Connectors: LC on one end, SC on the other (full duplex)
• Transmission: multimode optical link for short- to medium-range high-speed data

How to use

Install the cable by inserting the LC and SC connectors into the corresponding transceivers, patch panels, or ports. Ensure connectors are clean and undamaged before mating to avoid insertion loss. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends, crushing, or tight cable ties; maintain the manufacturer’s recommended bend radius for multimode fibre. Verify link status and optical power where supported by network equipment to confirm proper installation.

Recommendations

Use fibre end-cap dust covers when the cable is not connected, perform connector cleaning with appropriate fibre-cleaning tools prior to installation, and label both ends to simplify maintenance and troubleshooting in dense cabling environments.
