Cavo in fibra ottica METZ CONNECT 151S1JOJO50E 5 m LC viola

The METZ CONNECT 151S1JOJO50E 5 m LC Violet is an OM4 multimode fibre optic patch cable with LC connectors on both ends and a 50 µm core diameter. Designed for short‑reach, high‑bandwidth links, this 5-metre cable provides controlled attenuation and modal performance suitable for modern data centre infrastructures and high‑performance computing environments. The violet outer jacket and LC duplex terminations enable compact, color-coded routing and identification in dense patching panels.

Advantages

This OM4 cable delivers higher bandwidth and extended reach compared with lower grade multimode fibres, supporting reliable, low‑loss connections for 10 GbE, 40 GbE and InfiniBand links where applicable. The LC duplex connectors reduce connector footprint in patch panels and the 50 µm core provides optimized modal propagation for laser‑based transceivers. The 5 m length balances flexibility with manageable cable slack in rack installations.

Suitable for

• Data centre patching between switches, servers and transceivers
• High‑performance computing clusters using InfiniBand or Fibre Channel
• Server room backbone links and short‑reach optical interconnects
• Laboratory and testbench setups requiring color‑coded multimode links

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: LC to LC duplex
• Length: 5 metres
• Outer jacket colour: violet
• Typical applications: multimode short‑reach, laser‑optimized transceivers

How to use

Route the cable through the rack or cable management system to avoid tight bends and excessive pulling force. Insert each LC connector into the corresponding duplex port until a click confirms engagement. Ensure connector endfaces and transceiver ports are clean before mating to minimise insertion loss and maintain signal integrity. If deploying in a dense panel, use the violet jacket as a visual identifier for OM4 multimode runs and arrange slack to prevent microbends.

Recommendations

Regularly inspect and, if necessary, clean connector endfaces with approved fibre cleaning tools before connection. Maintain bend radius above the manufacturerʼs minimum (avoid sharp bends), and label both ends for easy identification in complex installations. For links longer than recommended for multimode OM4, verify transceiver specifications and budget to ensure link performance.
