Cavo in fibra ottica S/CONN ShiverPeaks 07-510815 15 m

The ShiverPeaks Fibre optic cable S/CONN 07-510815 15 m is an OM5 multimode patch cable with SC connectors on both ends, designed for full duplex data transmission over short and medium distances. With a 50 µm core diameter and a 15 metre length, this fibre patch cord provides a balanced combination of reach and multimode bandwidth suitable for contemporary data centre and networking environments. The cable’s grey outer jacket combined with lime-coloured identification markings simplifies routing and port identification in dense cabling installations.

Advantages

This OM5 fibre cable supports full duplex communication and is constructed to maintain signal integrity across typical local area networking spans. The SC push-pull connectors ensure secure mating and easy installation and removal. The 50 µm core diameter provides compatibility with multimode transceivers and supports high-speed data transmission in short-reach applications. Colour coding reduces the risk of connection errors and speeds up maintenance tasks in cabling closets and racks.

Suitable for

• Interconnects between switches, patch panels and servers in data centres
• High-density patching in server rooms and network racks
• Short- to medium-range multimode links for enterprise networks
• Upgrades from OM1/OM2/OM3/OM4 environments where OM5 multimode is supported

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM5 multimode
• Connector type: SC – both ends
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 15 m
• Polarity: full duplex
• Outer jacket colour: grey with lime identification

How to use

Route the fibre optic cable from the source to the destination ensuring gentle bends and avoiding sharp edges or excessive pulling force. Insert each SC connector into the matching SC port until it clicks into place, observing correct polarity for full duplex operation. Verify connections by testing link integrity and signal levels with appropriate fibre testers or by confirming network link status on connected equipment. When disconnecting, release the SC latch and remove the connector straight out to avoid fiber stress.

Recommendations

Store and install the cable within the manufacturer’s recommended bend radius, avoid exposure to mechanical stress and contaminating dust on connector endfaces; clean connectors before mating and use protective dust caps when not in use. Select OM5-compatible transceivers and active equipment to exploit multimode performance for high-speed short-reach links.
