Cavo in fibra ottica S/CONN ShiverPeaks 2 m LC/LC

The ShiverPeaks Fibre Optic Cable S/CONN ShiverPeaks 2m LC/LC is a 2-metre duplex fibre patch cable designed for multimode OM2 networks. It features LC connectors on both ends and a 50 µm core diameter suitable for short- to medium-reach high-speed data links. The cable delivers stable full-duplex transmission and is intended for use in data centers, telecommunications closets and local area network installations where consistent multimode performance is required.

Advantages

This LC/LC multimode fibre cable offers low insertion loss and consistent signal quality thanks to its OM2 fibre construction and precise connector terminations. The 2 m length provides a balance between flexibility and minimal signal attenuation for patching equipment within racks or between adjacent cabinets. Durable jacketing and connector strain relief reduce the risk of damage during installation and routine maintenance.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• Connecting switches, servers and patch panels in data centers
• Optical patching in telecommunication rooms and network racks
• Short- to medium-distance multimode links in enterprise LANs
• Full-duplex optical connections for network equipment

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM2 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: LC to LC
• Length: 2 m
• Mode: duplex (full duplex capable)
• Jacket: durable outer sheath with strain relief

How to use

Ensure transceivers or ports are compatible with OM2 multimode fibre before connecting. Gently insert each LC connector into the corresponding port until it clicks into place, observing correct polarity for duplex links. Avoid tight bends around the cable; follow minimum bend radius guidelines to prevent increased attenuation. When disconnecting, press the connector latch and pull straight out to prevent connector damage. Keep connector end faces clean and protected when not in use to maintain signal integrity.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, use this 2 m LC/LC OM2 cable in environments with moderate reach requirements. Clean connector end faces with appropriate fibre cleaning tools before installation, route the cable to avoid sharp bends and secure it using cable management within racks to minimise strain.
