Cavo in fibra ottica S/CONN ShiverPeaks 77934/4 15 m

The ShiverPeaks Fibre optic cable S/CONN ShiverPeaks 77934/4 15 m is a 15-metre OM4 multimode fiber assembly designed for high-performance network links. It features LC and ST connectors and a 50 µm core diameter, supporting full-duplex communication and high data rates suitable for InfiniBand environments. The cable is intended for structured cabling in data centres and computing clusters where low attenuation and consistent modal bandwidth are required.

Advantages

This OM4 fibre cable provides improved bandwidth and lower modal dispersion compared with lower-grade multimode options, enabling longer reach at high data rates. The combination of LC and ST connectors offers flexible connection options for equipment with mixed interface types. Full-duplex capability ensures simultaneous bi-directional data transfer, and the 15 m length balances reach and manageability for rack-to-rack or rack-to-panel connections in server rooms.

Suitable for

• High-performance computing clusters and InfiniBand networks
• Data centre interconnects between switches, servers and patch panels
• Telecommunication rooms requiring multimode OM4 links
• Laboratory and test environments with mixed LC and ST interfaces

Key specifications

• Cable type: Multimode OM4 fibre
• Length: 15 metres
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector types: LC on one end and ST on the other end
• Mode: Full duplex
• Typical application: InfiniBand and high-speed multimode links

How to use

Route the cable along cable trays or within rack channels to avoid tight bends and mechanical stress. Clean connector endfaces before mating using appropriate fibre cleaning tools to maintain signal integrity. Insert the LC connector into the LC port and the ST connector into the ST port, ensuring secure seating and proper alignment. Verify link status and run diagnostic tests or loopback checks to confirm attenuation and throughput meet system requirements.

Recommendations

Store and handle the fibre cable carefully to prevent exceeding minimum bend radius; avoid sharp kinks and do not apply excessive tensile force. For best performance, periodically inspect and clean connectors and use OM4-compliant transceivers or modules matched to the network equipment. When deploying in permanent installations, label both ends for easy identification and document link characteristics for future maintenance.
