Cavo in fibra ottica ShiverPeaks S/CONN 1m ST/ST

The ShiverPeaks S/CONN 1m ST/ST fibre optic cable is a 1-metre OM2 multimode cable featuring ST connectors on both ends and a 50 µm core diameter. Designed for full duplex transmission, it supports simultaneous two-way data transfer and is intended for networking environments and data centre interconnects where consistent optical performance and reliable link stability are required.

Advantages

This fibre cable provides stable multimode transmission with a 50 µm core that balances bandwidth and reach for typical enterprise and campus networks. The ST connectors ensure secure bayonet-style connections for quick installation and removal. With a one-metre length the cable minimises excess slack in patching scenarios and reduces signal loss associated with unnecessary cable runs. The construction is focused on durability to withstand routine handling in racks and patch panels while maintaining optical integrity.

Suitable for

• Short-distance multimode connections in racks and patch panels
• Data centre equipment interconnects and switch-to-switch links
• Network backbone segments within office and campus environments
• Structured cabling where ST connector compatibility is required

Key specifications

• Cable type: OM2 multimode fibre
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: ST to ST (bayonet-style connectors on both ends)
• Length: 1 metre
• Transmission mode: Full duplex

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces for cleanliness before installation and clean if necessary using appropriate fibre cleaning tools. Insert each ST connector into the corresponding ST port using the bayonet twist-and-lock action until it seats firmly. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to prevent attenuation. Use proper cable management in racks and patch panels to secure the cable and avoid strain on the connectors. For testing, verify link continuity and optical loss with compatible fibre test equipment after installation.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable in a dust-free environment and use dust caps when ports are unused. For best performance in multimode networks, match the OM2 cable to appropriate transceiver types and adhere to channel length limits for OM2 when planning links.
