Cavo in fibra ottica ShiverPeaks S/CONN 2 m SC/SC

The ShiverPeaks S/CONN 2m SC/SC fibre optic cable is a 2-meter duplex patch cable designed for short- to medium-distance optical connections. It uses OM2 multimode fibre with a 50 µm core diameter and SC to SC connectors on both ends for stable, push-pull coupling. The cable supports full duplex communication and is intended for linking network equipment such as switches, patch panels, transceivers and optical distribution frames in data centres, server rooms and local area networks.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable offers consistent multimode performance with a standardized 50 µm core, ensuring predictable light propagation and compatibility with OM2-rated equipment. The SC connectors provide secure, square-profile connections that are easy to install and remove, while the duplex configuration allows simultaneous transmit and receive channels. The 2 m length balances flexibility and neat cabling in racks and patch fields.

Suitable for

• Interconnecting switches and servers in data centres and server rooms
• Linking patch panels to transceivers and optical modules
• LAN backbone segments and short multimode fibre runs
• Testing and temporary fibre links during maintenance

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM2 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 2 m
• Connector type: SC to SC duplex
• Communication: Full duplex
• Jacket: Durable outer sheath suitable for indoor use

How to use

Identify the Tx and Rx ports on the devices to be connected and align the SC connectors accordingly. Insert each SC connector into the corresponding adapter or port until it clicks, ensuring a secure connection. Use the duplex clip or colour-coded boots, if provided, to maintain correct transmit/receive orientation. Route the cable along cable management paths to avoid tight bends and secure it with appropriate clips or ties. When disconnecting, press the SC connector latch and pull straight out to avoid damaging the ferrule.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, keep connector endfaces clean and protected with dust caps when not in use. Avoid bending the cable below the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius and maintain separation from electrical power cabling to reduce interference risks. Use this OM2 multimode cable within its designed link length limits and in environments suited for indoor networking installations.
