Cavo in fibra ottica ShiverPeaks S/CONN 77931/4 3 m OM4 LC a ST 50 µm full duplex

ShiverPeaks S/CONN 77931/4 is a 3 m OM4 multimode fibre optic patch cable with an LC connector on one end and an ST connector on the other. Designed for full duplex transmission, this 50 µm core cable supports high-speed InfiniBand and fibre network links with low insertion loss and standardized OM4 bandwidth performance. Its length and connector combination make it suitable for connections between servers, switches and storage systems in datacentre racks and network equipment cabinets.

Advantages

The OM4 multimode fibre construction provides improved bandwidth and extended reach compared with lower OM grades while maintaining compatibility with existing 50 µm multimode interfaces. Full duplex wiring enables simultaneous bidirectional communication over paired fibres for reliable high-throughput links. The LC-to-ST connector pairing allows flexible interconnection between modern LC-based equipment and legacy ST ports without additional adapter assemblies. The 3 m length balances manageability and reach for typical rack and cabinet layouts.

Suitable for

• Interconnecting servers, switches and storage in rack-mounted datacentre environments
• High-speed InfiniBand and multimode Ethernet links
• Short- to medium-reach multimode backbones and patch panels
• Upgrading or extending existing 50 µm multimode installations

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode, 50 µm core
• Cable length: 3 metres
• Connector A: LC
• Connector B: ST
• Transmission mode: Full duplex (paired fibres)
• Typical application: Data centre and network equipment interconnects

How to use

Connect the LC end to the LC port on the device or patch panel and plug the ST end into the ST receptacle on the corresponding equipment. Ensure connectors are clean before insertion to minimise signal loss; use appropriate fibre cleaning tools where necessary. Route the cable following rack management practices to avoid tight bends and mechanical strain, keeping bend radius within manufacturer recommendations for multimode fibre. For full duplex operation, verify both fibres in the pair are connected and secured at both ends.

Recommendations

Store and handle the fibre cable in a manner that prevents kinks and sharp bends. Regularly inspect and clean connector endfaces when moving or reusing the cable. Use this OM4 50 µm multimode cable for applications that require low-loss, high-bandwidth short- to medium-distance links within server rooms and network closets.
