Cavo in fibra ottica Televes OSK200S 200 m schermato single-mode

Televes Fiberglass Cable OSK200S 200 m Shielded Single-Mode is a 200-metre reel of single-mode optical cable engineered for stable fiber-optic signal transmission. The cable is designed to support long-distance single-mode links and includes an external shield to limit electromagnetic interference and provide mechanical protection. It is intended for both indoor and outdoor routing where a sealed, shielded single-mode fiber run of this length is required for network backbones, TV distribution or telecom links.

Advantages

The shielded single-mode construction delivers consistent attenuation and low dispersion for long-distance signal transport. Mechanical shielding improves durability against environmental factors and reduces the impact of nearby electrical noise. Supplied on a 200 m reel, the cable simplifies planning and installation for medium-length runs and reduces the need for splicing multiple shorter segments.

Suitable for

• Long-distance single-mode fiber links between buildings or equipment racks
• TV distribution and headend to distribution node connections
• Telecom trunks and service provider feeder lines
• Indoor installations requiring EMI-protected optical cabling
• Outdoor runs where a pre-measured 200 m reel is preferred

Key specifications

• Length: 200 metres on spool
• Fiber type: single-mode optical fiber
• Shielding: external electromagnetic shielding for improved protection
• Application: suitable for indoor and outdoor installations
• Typical properties: low attenuation and single-mode propagation for long distances

How to use

Plan the route and measure the required length before unspooling the cable from the reel. Use appropriate fiber optic installation tools and follow standard safety procedures for cutting, stripping and terminating single-mode fiber. Terminate the fiber with compatible single-mode connectors or fusion splice where necessary, and mount or secure the cable using recommended clamps and conduit for indoor or outdoor environments. Verify optical continuity and measure insertion loss after installation using an appropriate optical power meter or OTDR.

Recommendations

Store the reel in a dry, dust-free environment and avoid sharp bends or kinks during handling. When deploying outdoors, protect the cable from prolonged UV exposure and follow local regulations for burial or aerial installation. Perform optical tests after installation to confirm loss budgets meet system requirements.
