Cavo USB ROLINE 12.04.1072 USB 3.2 Gen 1 20 m USB A nero

The ROLINE 12.04.1072 USB cable is a 20 m black USB A to USB A cable designed for long-reach wired connections. It supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 (also referred to as USB 3.1 Gen 1) with a maximum theoretical data transfer rate of up to 5 Gbit/s. The cable provides a straightforward physical link between compatible hosts, hubs and devices where extended cable length is required while preserving USB 3.2 Gen 1 performance characteristics.

Advantages

This 20 metre ROLINE cable combines extended reach with USB 3.2 Gen 1 performance, enabling high-speed data transfer over a long distance without using repeaters or active extenders in typical short-run setups. The USB A to USB A connector pair offers compatibility with devices and equipment that implement standard Type-A ports. The cable’s black jacket provides a neutral appearance suitable for office, studio or industrial cabling runs and its 1 kg weight reflects its substantial construction for the given length.

Suitable for

• Connecting desktop computers to USB hubs or docking stations over longer distances
• Linking external storage devices (HDD/SSD enclosures) to a host when placement requires extended cable length
• Audio/video equipment setups where USB Type-A endpoints need to be connected across a room or rack
• Temporary or permanent cabling in offices, classrooms or conference spaces

Key specifications

• Connector type: USB A to USB A
• USB specification: USB 3.2 Gen 1 (3.1 Gen 1)
• Maximum data transfer rate: up to 5 Gbit/s (theoretical)
• Cable length: 20 m
• Colour: Black
• Weight: approximately 1 kg

How to use

Connect one USB A plug to the host or upstream device and the other USB A plug to the downstream device or peripheral. Ensure both connected devices support USB A physical interfaces and that the USB 3.2 Gen 1 link is negotiated by both endpoints for maximum throughput; otherwise, the connection will operate at the highest mutually supported USB speed. Avoid sharp bends and excessive strain at connector ends during installation to maintain signal integrity over the 20 m length.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this cable between devices with direct USB A ports that are specified to work over passive cable lengths. If you encounter reduced speeds or connectivity issues at this length in your environment, consider using active USB extenders, powered hubs, or shorter passive runs. Route the cable away from strong sources of electromagnetic interference and secure it with appropriate clamps or cable management to prevent mechanical stress.
