Recommendations

For secure operation, use ISO 7816-compliant smartcards and keep device firmware up to date via the field update capability. Where required, choose the German/DIN layout variant for compliance with local ergonomic guidance; otherwise select the Swiss layout for correct key mapping. Ensure the USB connection remains physical and secure in environments that require tamper-evident setups.
