Controller Serial ATA SILVERSTONE SST-ECS06 — scheda PCIe con 6 porte SATA

The SILVERSTONE Serial ATA controller SST-ECS06 — PCIe card with 6 SATA ports is a PCI Express expansion card that adds six internal SATA connections to a desktop computer. It provides a simple way to increase the number of available SATA ports for connecting additional HDDs or SSDs, enabling larger local storage arrays, backup drives, or expanded media libraries without replacing the motherboard. The card is intended for users who need reliable, straightforward SATA port expansion to support multiple internal storage devices.

Advantages

The SST-ECS06 delivers six SATA ports in a single PCIe slot, offering compact and efficient expansion. Installation is plug-and-play in systems with compatible operating systems and available PCI Express lanes, minimizing setup time. The card supports standard 3.5" and 2.5" HDDs and SSDs through the motherboard-style SATA connectors, enabling flexible combinations of drive types and capacities. Its low-profile PCB design permits use in many desktop cases while keeping cabling straightforward and organized.

Suitable for

• Adding multiple internal hard drives or SSDs for data storage and backups
• Expanding storage for home media servers and local media libraries
• Upgrading workstation storage capacity for photo, video, and project files
• Small office setups that require additional internal drives without replacing the motherboard

Key specifications

• Interface: PCI Express x1/x4/x8/x16 compatible card
• Number of internal SATA ports: 6
• SATA standard compatibility: SATA revision compliant (backward-compatible with legacy SATA devices)
• Form factor: low-profile compatible PCB suitable for standard desktop cases
• Supported drive types: 2.5" and 3.5" SATA HDDs and SATA SSDs

How to use

Power off the computer and unplug it from the mains before installation. Insert the card into an available PCI Express slot on the motherboard and secure it to the case chassis. Connect the internal SATA cables from the drives to the card’s SATA ports and attach any required power connectors from the system power supply to the drives. After reassembling and powering on the system, allow the operating system to detect the new controller; install drivers if the OS does not include native support. Configure connected drives in the operating system or BIOS/UEFI as needed for use.

Recommendations

Ensure the system power supply provides sufficient power and available SATA power connectors for all connected drives. For optimal cooling and longevity, maintain adequate airflow around installed drives and avoid mixing drives with significantly different performance characteristics in a single storage volume if consistent performance is required.
