Convertitore di media Ethernet 10G BlueOptics 2x SFP+ 10000 Mbit/s 850 nm nero

The BlueOptics 10G Ethernet Media Converter is a compact device with two SFP+ fiber ports designed for converting electrical Ethernet signals to 10GBASE-SR optical signals. It supports a maximum data transfer rate of 10000 Mbit/s over multimode fiber using an 850 nm wavelength and a stated maximum reach of 30 m. The unit is intended for wired network environments and is supplied in a black housing. It accepts SFP+ transceivers and supports auto-negotiation and auto-MDIX to simplify integration with existing copper and fiber links.

Advantages

The media converter enables straightforward extension of a copper network into fiber without modifying existing switches or cables, preserving legacy infrastructure while adding 10 Gbit/s fiber capability. Built-in auto-negotiation and automatic detection of installed SFP+ transceivers reduce configuration effort. Additional features such as link pass-through, fiber fault alert and a remote loopback function aid diagnostics and increase link reliability in unmanaged network setups.

Suitable for

• Short-range 10G fiber connections within data centers or equipment rooms (multimode, up to 30 m)
• Upgrading server or switch uplinks from copper to fiber without replacing existing devices
• Connecting SFP+ transceivers for 10GBASE-SR links between rack-mounted equipment
• Unmanaged network environments requiring simple media conversion and automatic link handling

Key specifications

• Maximum data transfer rate: 10000 Mbit/s
• Fiber ports: 2 × SFP+
• Supported Ethernet data rates on copper: 10 / 100 / 1000 / 10000 Mbit/s
• Optical wavelength: 850 nm (10GBASE-SR)
• Maximum transmission distance (typical, multimode fiber): 30 m
• Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports: 1 (for copper connectivity)
• Product colour: Black

How to use

Install the media converter on a stable surface or in a suitable rack shelf and observe ESD precautions when handling SFP+ transceivers. Insert compatible SFP+ modules into the two fiber ports and connect LC duplex multimode fiber patch cords to the transceivers. Connect the copper side to a switch or host via the RJ-45 port using an appropriate Cat6A or better cable to support 10 Gbit/s. Power the unit and verify link LEDs; the device will perform auto-negotiation and adjust link parameters according to the installed transceivers and attached copper equipment.

Recommendations

Use this converter with multimode SFP+ transceivers and high-quality LC duplex patch cords for 10GBASE-SR operation at 850 nm. For the full 10 Gbit/s bandwidth reliably, employ Cat6A or higher on the copper side and ensure fiber patch lengths remain within the recommended 30 m limit for the chosen transceiver type. Observe ESD handling for transceivers, and consult the manufacturer manual for specific installation, firmware and safety details.
