D-Link DGS-1100-10MPV2 Managed L2 Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) Power over Ethernet (PoE) 1U nero

The D-Link DGS-1100-10MPV2 is a managed L2 Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for small and medium businesses. This 1U rack-mountable switch provides eight Gigabit RJ-45 ports with PoE support, a switching capacity of 20 Gbit/s and compliance with common networking standards such as IEEE 802.1Q, 802.1D and 802.3ad. It combines traffic management, energy-efficient features and management tools to support VoIP, surveillance and general network segmentation.

Advantages

The switch offers smart management features that simplify configuration and ongoing administration, including VLAN support for traffic isolation and quality of service for latency-sensitive applications. Energy-saving technologies such as IEEE 802.3az, Link Status detection and Time-Based PoE reduce power consumption, and most models in the DGS-1100 series use a fanless design for silent operation and longer lifespan. The PD-Alive function helps maintain continuous operation of connected devices by automatically resetting unresponsive powered devices.

Suitable for

• Small and medium business networks requiring managed Gigabit switching
• VoIP deployments that need dedicated bandwidth and VLAN isolation
• IP surveillance systems that require stable PoE power and device uptime
• Rack-mounted installations in office network cabinets

How to use

Install the DGS-1100-10MPV2 in a standard 1U rack position and connect your network devices to the Gigabit RJ-45 ports. Use the D-Link Network Assistant (DNA) or the web-based management interface to perform initial discovery and configuration. Create VLANs to separate VoIP and surveillance traffic, configure QoS and PoE settings as required, and enable PD-Alive for critical powered devices to reduce downtime. Apply firmware updates and backup configurations through the management tools.

Recommendations

For reliable voice and video performance, place VoIP phones and surveillance cameras on dedicated VLANs and enable QoS. Use Time-Based PoE to schedule power to noncritical devices and enable Link Status detection to reduce unnecessary power draw. Regularly monitor device status via the management interface and enable PD-Alive for cameras and other critical PoE endpoints.
