How to use

Mount the switch in a standard 19-inch rack using the supplied rack ears or mounting kit. Connect uplink ports or aggregation links to the core network or routers as required for your topology. Attach edge devices (IP phones, access points, cameras) to the Ethernet ports; the switch will deliver PoE power over the same Cat5e/Cat6 cabling where device power negotiation and available power budget permit. Use the switch management interface to configure VLANs, PoE budgets, port settings and basic security features according to your network design and operational policies.

Recommendations

Ensure the total PoE power budget is sufficient for all connected devices before full deployment. Verify compatible PoE class and power requirements for IP phones, access points and cameras. Maintain adequate ventilation and ambient temperature in the rack, and implement regular firmware updates and configuration backups via the HP Enterprise management tools.
