In a laundry room or covered terrace, you need a socket that shrugs off splashes and dust while keeping little fingers safe. The KONTAK-SIMON Simon 54 module delivers exactly that: a single French/Belgian standard (Type E) socket with child-protection shutters and a protective flap, all in a clean white finish. Rated IP44, it stands up to damp conditions indoors or under a roof outdoors. The screw terminals provide a rock-solid connection for 16 A loads up to 250 V AC, and the flush-mounted design integrates neatly into standard 60 mm back boxes. Why choose it

The Simon 54 socket is built for real-world use. The IP44 rating means it can handle moisture from washing machines, sinks, or outdoor rain—without compromising safety. The integrated shutters block access to live parts unless both pins are inserted simultaneously, a crucial safeguard in homes with children. The flap adds an extra layer of protection when the socket is not in use, keeping out dust and water droplets. Screw terminals ensure a durable, low-resistance connection that won't loosen over time, even with frequent plugging and unplugging. And because it's part of the Simon 54 range, you can mix and match with other modules—switches, data outlets, TV sockets—to create a custom installation that looks professional.

Ideal use cases

• Laundry rooms and utility areas where splashes are common
• Covered balconies, loggias, and patios
• Kitchens near sinks or worktops (with appropriate back box sealing)
• Bathrooms (outside zones 0–2, as per local regulations)
• Garages and workshops with occasional moisture
• Public or commercial spaces requiring robust, tamper-resistant outlets

Good to know

Installation requires a standard flush-mounted back box (60 mm recommended). The module clips into a compatible Simon 54 frame (sold separately) for a seamless finish. Always have a qualified electrician perform the installation and ensure the circuit is protected by an appropriate RCD. The socket is designed for indoor use and covered outdoor areas—do not expose it to direct rain or immerse it. It complies with CE directives and relevant European standards for safety and electromagnetic compatibility. For best results, pair with other Simon 54 white modules to maintain a consistent aesthetic throughout your space.
