How to use

Connect the DS8178 to your host via the chosen interface (USB, RS-232) or pair it to a mobile device over Bluetooth following the pairing procedure in the user guide. Aim the scanner at the barcode and press the trigger; the device will decode 1D and 2D barcodes, including multiple codes on a single document when configured. For full-page capture, position the document within the imager field and press the trigger to capture the required data. Use the included management tools to create configuration barcodes if you need to change settings or to stage devices in bulk.

Recommendations

The DS8178 performs best when the barcode is held within the recommended working distance and when lenses and the environment are kept free of heavy dust or moisture.
