The Lindy Cat.6 HDBaseT HDMI 4K60 Wall Plate Transmitter is one part of a high performance, reliable solution for extending HDMI signals over long distances via Cat.6 network cable.

By combining this Transmitter unit with a compatible HDBaseT Receiver such as Lindy No. 38214 and 38342, this solution ensures reliable transmission up to 70m.

The following distance and resolution combinations are possible when using high quality Cat.6 or above U/UTP or F/UTP cable:

Supporting resolutions up to 4K Ultra HD, video can be viewed in stunning clarity, while additional support for HDR (High Dynamic Range) allows content to be displayed with enhanced brightness, greater contrasts of blacks and whites and a much wider colour gamut. This provides a reliable solution for creating eye-catching digital signage in retail, immersive displays at events or engaging setups in larger conference rooms or lectures halls.

PoC (Power over Cable) functionality with On/Off switch provides additional flexibility. This allows power to be supplied alongside data through Cat.6 network cable in a point to point connection between the transmitter and receiver, meaning only a single power supply is required at one side of the installation.

Featuring bi-directional IR ports at both sides of the setup, the source equipment can be easily controlled from the display side, and the display can also be controlled from the HDMI source side. This extension system allows for complete and simple control for the user providing also RS-232 port via terminal block on the rear side of the wall plate.

How to use

Install the transmitter into a standard wall plate cutout and connect the HDMI source to the HDMI input. Run a single length of high-quality Cat.6 (or above) U/UTP or F/UTP cable to a compatible HDBaseT receiver and connect at the receiver end. Use the PoC On/Off switch if you wish to power the receiver from the transmitter side; otherwise provide a 24 V power supply to the required device. Connect IR emitters/receivers and RS-232 wiring as required for remote control functionality. Verify cable terminations and avoid additional couplers or patch panels if maximum distance is required.

Recommendations

Use good quality Cat.6 or higher U/UTP or F/UTP cable and a direct point-to-point connection between the transmitter and receiver to reach the stated distance/resolution combinations. Introducing lower-grade cable, couplers, or patch panels can reduce maximum achievable distances and signal quality.
