Lucchetto a catena ABUS 9809K/140 BK — catena in acciaio temprato ABUS 14 mm, lunghezza 140 cm

ABUS 9809K/140 BK is a chain lock featuring a 14 mm hardened steel chain and a 140 cm length, designed to secure bicycles, scooters and other outdoor equipment. The construction combines a heavy-duty chain with an integrated lock head that fits the chain to reduce leverage and tampering. This model provides flexible, long-reach protection for everyday outdoor use where a durable physical barrier is required.

Advantages

The 14 mm hardened steel links increase resistance to cutting tools and sawing, while the long 140 cm chain length allows the lock to reach around fixed objects and multiple frames or wheels. The integrated lock head aligns with the chain for a compact connection that reduces exposed link ends and potential leverage points. The exterior protective sleeve helps prevent paint damage to secured items and limits exposure of the chain to moisture and dirt.

Suitable for

• Securing bicycles to racks, poles or fixed objects
• Locking scooters, e-bikes or cargo bikes
• Protecting outdoor equipment such as garden tools or wheelchairs
• Situations requiring a long, flexible locking solution

Key specifications

• Chain link diameter: 14 mm hardened steel
• Overall chain length: 140 cm
• Integrated lock head compatible with chain links
• Protective sleeve to prevent surface damage
• Suitable for outdoor use with basic weather resistance

How to use

Wrap the chain around a fixed, immovable object and through the frame and/or wheels of the bicycle or other item to be secured. Insert the chain end into the integrated lock head and engage the locking mechanism according to the lock’s operating procedure. Ensure the chain is pulled tight with minimal slack to reduce leverage and make access with cutting tools more difficult. Store the key or combination information securely when not in use.

Recommendations

For best results, choose a fixed anchor point that cannot be lifted or easily moved. Combine the chain lock with a secondary locking device for added security in high-risk areas. Regularly inspect the chain and lock head for signs of wear, corrosion or tampering and lubricate the locking mechanism as needed to maintain smooth operation.
