Prolunga USB Lindy 5m USB 3.0 Active Extension

The Lindy USB 3.0 Active Extension Cable extends the reach of USB Type A devices by 5 m using built-in active electronics while maintaining USB 3.0 data rates up to 5 Gbps. With a USB A male and USB A female connector, the cable enables longer-distance connections for storage devices, webcams and other Type A peripherals to PCs, laptops and tablets. Up to two extension cables can be chained together. The cable is compatible with all computers that have a USB Type A port and is certified by Google for long-distance active connections between an ASUS Chromebox and a USB camera in Google Hangouts Meet hardware installations.

Advantages

The active design preserves signal integrity over an extra 5 m without reducing USB 3.0 transfer speed, allowing flexible positioning of connected devices. Compatibility with USB Type A hosts ensures broad device support, and the ability to chain up to two extensions increases usable distance. Google certification verifies suitability for video conferencing setups using ASUS Chromebox and USB cameras.

Key specifications

• Connector: USB A male to USB A female
• Extension length: 5 m
• Maximum supported data rate: up to 5 Gbps (USB 3.0 / USB 3.1 Gen 1 / USB 3.2 Gen 1)

How to use

Connect the USB A male end of the active extension cable into the computer's USB Type A port and plug the USB Type A device into the female connector at the other end. If more reach is required, attach a second Lindy USB 3.0 Active Extension Cable to the female connector, ensuring no more than two cables are chained. The active electronics handle the signal amplification automatically; no external power source or driver installation is required for standard USB 3.0 operation.

Recommendations

For reliable video conferencing, use the extension in certified hardware setups such as ASUS Chromebox with USB cameras and avoid chaining more than two active extensions to maintain signal performance.
